SYNOPSIS: The aftermath of WW2. In a rural village in the South of Italy, a single mother befriends the local homosexual wedding planner. Through him, she is introduced to the hidden community of gays and starts understanding her rights as a woman.
DIRECTOR: Christiano Bortone
After studying at the University of Southern California, he graduated in 1990 from New York University with honors. Over the years, he has directed and/or produced award-winning feature films, documentaries and television programmes at national and international festivals. In 2007, his film Rosso come il cielo won the David di Donatello Award and over 25 other prizes at international festivals. His 2016 film Caffè was the first official co-production between Italy and China. It premiered as a Special Event at Venice Days and received a nomination at the China Media Awards.
DIRECTOR: Daniela Porto
Daniela Porto graduated from Roma Tre University in 2003 with a degree in Music and Performing Arts, having written her thesis on Marco Ferreri's early films in Spain. She attended the Ettore Rolli professional photography school, completing an internship at the Contrasto photography agency. Since 2005, she has worked with Orisa Produzioni as an editorial and production manager. Il mio posto è qui (My Place Is Here), from which the screenplay of the same name is taken, is her debut novel, published by Sperling & Kupfer.
